Man Hours
The P120 X-Plug™ used with a taper tie system has proven to save contractors over half the man hours and materials costs when compared to alternatives (i.e. She Bolts, non mechanical plugs). The X-Plug™ can be installed 6 to 1 versus non-mechanical plugs and ensures a positive seal unlike the competition. With the taper tie system contractors are able to form structures in a fraction of the time/material compared to a she bolt system that can lead to time consuming and costly leak repair. EXAMPLE: Two storage tanks 80’ and 90’ dia. both with 40 foot walls were sealed and grouted on the inside of the tank in a total of 6 hours each (1000+ tie holes). The man hours for two craftsmen went from six working days to a day and a half.
Plug/Patch
The P120 X-Plug™ has the capability and reliability to seal the taper tie voids without grout on either side of the plug. Unless specified there is no longer a need to use a non- shrink grout, water plug, bentonite rope or dry pack grout in the taper tie voids as an added precaution to avoid leaks, again saving time and materials. A grout bag with a loose mix grout is all that is needed to fill the remainder of the void on either side of the P120 X-Plug™.

Example
This example is based on cost to a contractor for 1000 plugs, and grout on the inside of the tank. The pricing for the competition varies; so this is an estimate starting in favor of the competition in regards to pricing.
The Competition- 1000 plugs @.1.30 = $1,300.
The P120 X-Plug (341) 1000 plugs @ 1.75 = $1,750
That’s a cost difference of about $450. That’s a 26% margin between the competiton and the X-Plug in favor of the Competition.
At the cost of $30 per man hour, the competition is estimated to be 85 man hours for installation. That is 2 men a total of 5.33 days to complete. The man hour cost is $2,550
The P120 X-Plug is estimated to be 24 man hours for installation. That is 2 men a total of 1.5 days to complete the same task. The man hour cost is $720
The Competition cost for materials and installation is: $3,850
The X-Plug cost for materials and installation is: $2,470
That is a difference of $1,380 in favor of the P120 X-Plug. That’s a 36% savings for the total man hours and installation. This example does not include the 61 man hours that were saved by using the X-Plug. That’s a total of 71% faster than the competition. Factoring the 61 saved man hours by $30 you get another savings of $1830. The estimated total saved by using the X-Plug is $3,210.
***NOTE*** Man Hours saved can be calculated either by cost savings or progress on another portion of the project, (i.e. conducting leak test sooner, increased production, etc).
